What are the benefits of taking Driver Education though Dominion Driving Schools?
  • Classroom instruction will take place at any of the 4 locations of Dominion Driving Schools that is most convenient for you.
  • Pick up and drop off for in-car training will also be at requested places and times.
  • Dominion Driving Schools is approved by the Ministry of Transportation as being a beginner driver training course provider. This means that upon completing the course, you will be able to decrease your wait time for a G2 test to 8 months instead of a full year. You will also receive a certificate for insurance discount from the MTO.
 
How much full course will it cost?
The cost of the course is $610.00 including tax for all Dominion Driving schools locations in automatic transmission. A full course in standard transmission costs $1000.00 including tax. 
 
What does the course price include?
The price includes a folder, pen and paper, hand out materials, Certificate fees, tutelage of class and in-car instructors, and use of a vehicle for 10 hours of in-car training. Taxes included.
 
Where & when are the courses offered?
Any of Dominion Driving Schools locations. Please check the schedules for specific dates and times.
 
 How long do I have to complete the entire course?
The course must be completed within 12 months of starting date, passing the due date will cost you extra.
 
What should I do if I am unable to take the course after I have registered?
Please contact Dominion Driving Schools of Ontario at 519-576-4494. Notify within 24 hours of car training prior to start time and date.
 
How can I pay?
You can pay by Cash, Cheque (payable to Dominion Driving Schools), Money order, or by debit card transaction in the Kitchener and Waterloo locations only. If you would like to pay cash, you must bring the cash along with the registration form to Dominion Driving Schools of Ontario.
 
How much time will I actually spend in a car?
You will spend 10 hours behind the wheel.
 
Can I take all 10 hours in one day?
No. Minimum of 1 hour and maximum of 2 hours in a 24 hour time period.
 
How many hours of classroom instruction are there in total?
There will be 25 hours of classroom instruction.
 
How many students will be in my class?
There will be a minimum of 5 or a maximum of 25 students.
 
How many people will be in the car?
The in-car lessons are one on one (just you and the instructor).
 
What is the Age Requirement to take the course?
Students must have a valid G1 licence to start any in-car training. But for the in-class portion of the training a G1 is not necessary.
 
How long do I have to start my car training apart from the class time?
The first in-car training session must be completed at least 8 weeks after the last in-class session for the Ministry to acknowledge the training.
 
Do I need to bring anything to class?
Yes. You need bring your G1 license if you have one at the time. Pens and paper will be provided to you by Dominion Driving Schools.
 
Will I be contacted prior to the course starting?
Yes. You will be contacted to verify the course times and dates.
 
What if I can't attend all the sessions in the same course that I signed for?
If you can't attend a class, call Dominion Driving Schools at 519-576-4494 to find out when you can make up a class.
 
What if I need to change my in-car schedules?
If you can't make your in-car booking, call Dominion Driving Schools at 519-576-4494 or call your car instructor to change your time to avoid penalties. You must call 24 hours in advance of the appointment in order to avoid the cancellation fee.
 
When and how do I receive my certificate?
The certificates are issued by the Ministry of Transportation. Upon passing your G2 road test, you must go into any MTO plate office to receive proof of drivers training for your insurance company.
